Support Duwamsih Rowing Club and the community by joining the Board of Directors!
Community members, youth rowers, parents, & masters rowers are all encouraged to run for a position on the DRC Board of Directors.
The DRC Board of Directors plays a vital roll in keeping this club running smoothly and funded. The Board is made up of a fun group of volunteers who support DRC’s mission to bring the sport of rowing to the residents of South Park, Georgetown, White Center, and surrounding neighborhoods, and to offer recreational access to the Duwamish River that is affordable for everyone. Please consider joining the Board for a year long term (September 2018 through August 2019). You will learn a lot about how the Club operates and the passion and energy it takes to keep boats on the water 5+ days a week. By joining the DRC Board you can make a difference in your community!
The Board has monthly meetings to discuss the Club and facilitate its operation. Meetings are generally held in the evenings on the first Tuesday of each month in South Park or nearby. Positions are open to anyone from the DRC community; we encourage youth rowers, masters rowers, parents, and friends/community members to consider running for a position. For those of you who are in high school, this is a great an opportunity to accumulate service-learning hours.
If you would like to learn more about joining the Board please feel free to attend the August Board Meeting (8/14 at 8pm), email Rheanna Bensel (rowdrc), or talk to a current member of the board.
Please email Rheanna Bensel (rowdrc) by Monday (8/20) if you are interested in running for a Board Position!
