DRC is a mostly volunteer club. Our coaches do get paid for their coaching time, however; administrative work, boat maintenance and repair, boathouse maintenance, launch maintenance, outreach etc. are the responsibility of the club at large.
Each member of DRC must sign up for at least one of our volunteer committees when they join DRC. We ask that all of our members including our youth rowers and their parents get involved with volunteering with the club in some way, particularly with our fundraising.
We hold a DRC fundraiser each year, where we try to bring community together for fun & education as well as raising support. Past events have included a movie & chili feed at the Duwamish Long House, and a BYO-Vinyl DJ night with a talk by former UW rowing coach Bob Ernst.
Whether it’s donating food for an event, lending your expertise, or financial support as an individual, company, or grantmaker, everyone can play a part in keeping Duwamish Rowing Club going!
Coming to understand the Duwamish River as an ecosystem, and as a diverse community of residents, businesses, and other groups, provides every DRC youth rower with experiences that make a lifetime of difference.
of donations to DRC go directly to our programs.
